<p>Newschannel 3, CBS News, WWMT, West Michigan is a MI based station and a CBS Television affiliate owned and operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the country today. Sinclair owns and operates, programs or provides sales services to 163 television stations in 77 markets, after pending transactions. Sinclair's television group reaches approximately 38.7% of US television households and includes FOX, ABC, MyTV, CW, CBS, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates.</p><p>WWMT is a full service television station in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Grand Rapids, Michigan, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 8 and on virtual al channel 3. Founded in 1950 as WKZO, it is owned by Freedom Communications. WWMT is affiliated with CBS, airing CBS's primetime shows in the evening.</p><p> In the morning, the station airs CBS's morning news and information program, with spots for local news and weather; in the afternoon, it airs CBS's soap operas; in the early evening, it shows CBS's national news broadcast and NewsChannel 3. After primetime, it airs its own local newscasts, followed by CBS's late-night programming. WWMT also airs local sports broadcasts.</p>
