KTRK is part of The Republican Radio Center of the Public Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic was established in May 15, 1969 by order of the chairman of the Committee on Broadcasting and Television under the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR.
The main task of the current Republican Radio and Television Center is to improve and develop the material and technical base of OTRK television and radio broadcasting.
